Ayodhya,June 16: Making a fresh pitch for construction of Ram temple either through an ordinance or a law,Shiv Sena chief Udhav Thackarey said here on Sunday that he strongly believed that the temple would be constructed at the earliest. He did not elaborate.
Udhav who came this morning along with party MPs and son Aditya told media persons after offering prayer at the make-shift Ram temple that he saw no problem in this regard now after the BJP getting a massive mandate.
His visit,he said, is a fulfillment of promise made in November last.He had promised to visit the temple town again after the election during that visit and that is why he was here today.
In the same month the Vishwa Hindu Parishad had held a two-day meet to put pressure on the government for early construction of temple.
The Sena chief reiterated that temple was not an election issue and that it was a matter of faith. While some party members of the Lok Sabha had arrived on Saturday, some others reached this morning along with him.Among those who had arrived earlier was Sanjay Raut, a senior party leader and spokesman.
Though Udhav does not see a problem but the fact is that the BJP does not have a majority  in the Rajya Sabha.Several bills passed by the Lok Sabha are pending there. The temple legislation may meet the same fate.
Secondly, the government has  declared that the temple would be constructed either after the court order or outside settlement of dispute.
The Supreme Court has already formed a three-member team to reach a negotiated settlement. The Committee has held several meetings in this regard. It is likely to submit its report soon. In the most of the circles, therefore, there is a wait and watch.
