Rae Bareli, 02 April: The National Thermal Power Corporation Limitedโs (NTPC) Unchahar Project has created a new record by generating 12% more power than the MoU target. With this, 14.20 million units of electricity were generated by the unit’s solar plant, which is higher than before.
This spectacular performance by NTPC’s Unchahar unit in the financial year 2020-21 is considered to be the main reason for the modern maintenance of the plant and the use of technical efficiency in its operation.
It is noteworthy that the foundation of Unchahar’s first unit was laid four decades ago and it was acquired by NTPC on February 13 1992. In the last financial year, all Unhahar’s unit plants registered PLF of 53 per cent with an availability factor of 91.68 per cent. Unchahar generated 7156.78 million units in FY21, 12 per cent higher than the MOU target. Unchahar project generated 14.20 million units from its solar plant.
For the first time by the project, the recovery of NTPC energy bills from DISCOMS in the financial year 2021 is one lakh crore rupees and the dues are 100%.
In the midst of the Covid pandemic where there was silence everywhere but NTPC Unchahar used more than 100% of its capital expenditure with the strategy of “Don’t stop, we won’t stop.”
Meaningful use of ash

Along with this, many efforts were made for the correct use and benefit of the ash for the farmers. The farmers were made aware and motivated for other necessary uses.
Hands extended during Covid pandemic
Realizing its responsibilities at Covid, the project extended its hand for cooperation and discharged many social responsibilities. Unchahar was awarded 2 gold medals by the Public Relations Society due to social work done during Covid.
