Lucknow, 13 April: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, while expressing his anger over shortage of Covid beds, on Tuesday, gave strict instructions to the concerned authorities to work at full speed immediately to increase the number of beds in L-2 (with Oxygen facility) and L-3 (with Ventilator facility) Covid hospitals across the state.
The Chief Minister today gave strict instructions that if private institutions are doing non-cooperation during the Corona pandemic, then strict action should be taken against them. Apart from this, he has instructed the MBBS fourth and fifth year students to put their duty in hospitals due to the cancellation of their examinations.
Chief Minister Yogi held a virtual review meeting with high officials today for effective prevention of corona from his government residence. During this, he directed to take action on other options besides increasing government beds, private medical colleges.
To increase the capacity of the test, the Chief Minister has instructed to increase from 1100 to 5500 in King Geroge’s Medical University (KGMU) and one thousand to 5000 in Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences (RMLIMS). In the past, central institute’s labs in Agra, Bareilly and Noida used to have 1200 tests every day. Chief Minister Yogi has also given instructions to use them.
Private hospitals in Lucknow, Kanpur and Prayagraj will be takeovers
Chief Minister Yogi has given instructions to takeover Hind and Mayo Hospital in Lucknow, Rama Medical College in Kanpur and United Hospital in Prayagraj. Apart from this, Yogi ordered to takeover Cancer Hospital of Lucknow and asked to take 50 beds for ICU out of 300 beds. Yogi said that two thousand beds are being increased in Era, TSM and Integral Medical College in Lucknow. Three hundred more beds have been arranged in Balrampur Hospital. There will be 215 beds with oxygen, 40 beds with ventilators, 25 more beds with ventilators by Tuesday evening. It has also asked to deploy one nodal officer each in take-over hospitals and medical colleges in the state, so that people get smooth treatment in their care.
Instructions to conduct one and a half million investigations daily from RTPCR
On the instructions of Yogi, new RTPCR labs are being set up in 12 districts of the state – Amethi, Auraiya, Bijnor, Kushinagar, Deoria, Mau, Siddharthnagar, Sonbhadra, Bulandshahar, Sitapur, Mahoba and Kasganj. So far, in the state, more than two lakh daily testing were being conducted, about half of the testing were being done by RTPCR, the Chief Minister has given instructions to increase it to one and a half lakhs daily.
He also instructed to encourage private labs for more testing and to talk to them. The Chief Minister has also asked to consider paying on behalf of the state government to increase the scrutiny in private labs.
Minister in-charge should review districts daily: Yogi
Chief Minister Yogi has directed the ministers of the state government to review the districts under their charge daily. Ventilators have been provided in all districts to ascertain whether they are being used or not. Also, if any other resource is required, please inform them immediately. There are about 108 hundred ambulances in the state.
CM Yogi has instructed to use half of these ambulances for Covid and half for Non-Covid patients. He has also directed the district administration to acquire private sector ambulances as per their needs.
