Lucknow, 25 April: Amid the surge in the cases of Covid-19, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced the commencement of third phase of the Covid-19 immunization across the country. In such a situation, all people above the age of 18 years can get vaccinated across the country from May 1.
Only after the announcement by Prime Minister Modi, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has decided to give the vaccine to everyone in the state for free. For this, the state government has ordered a dose of 50-50 lakhs to indigenous companies that manufacture Covishield of Serum Institute of India and Covaxin of Bharat Biotech.
A state government spokesperson said that Uttar Pradesh is the first state to have decided to give the Covid vaccine free. After this, now Maharashtra, Kerala, Chhattisgarh, Bihar and many other states are deciding to give the vaccine for free.
Vaccination centres will be increased in the state
Chief Minister Yogi has clearly said that the government will move the vaccination program rapidly with its own resources. He has asked the Health Department to conduct the vaccination campaign on a wide scale. Not only this, the State Government has also instructed the Health Department to make arrangements for the supply after assessing the need of the dose.
Along with this, the Chief Minister has given instructions to increase the vaccination centres in the state. At the same time, the program of vaccination will also be conducted in the offices of the big companies of the state.
Vaccination camp will also be opened in open spaces
The state government has decided that the people who have received the first dose of vaccine. They will also have to ensure the provision of the second dose of vaccine. For this, the government is now arranging to set up camp in the open space. So that people do not fear infection.
It is worth mentioning that for the last several days, people were sceptical about whether they would get infected during vaccinations in hospitals, after which the state government has taken this decision.
So far, one crore 17 lakh 77 thousand 209 vaccine doses
To reduce the effects of infection, the program of immunization in the state is going on at a rapid pace. So far, a total of 1 crore 17 lakh 77 thousand 209 vaccine doses have been given in the state. This includes first dose of 97 lakh 79 thousand 846 vaccines and 19 lakh 97 thousand 363 second dose.
Dr RK Dhiman, director of Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGI), said that we can avoid hospitalization by getting vaccinated. Not only this, the death rate also decreases. In such a situation, it is very important for us to get the vaccine.
He told that three days before Holi, he and his wife had developed a corona, but the infection did not have much effect on them as both of them have vaccinated against Covid-19.
