Lucknow, 01 May: 30317 new cases of global pandemic novel coronavirus disease (Covid-19) have come up across the state, while 38826 Covid patients have returned home in a single day after being cured. At the same time, 303 infected people have succumbed to Covid-19.
The speed of Covid-19 has started slowing down across Uttar Pradesh. At the same time, the number of patients recovering from corona virus is increasing continuously. However, the death toll from corona is still frightening.
State’s Additional Chief Secretary Health Amit Mohan Prasad said that there is improvement in the new positive case as compared to earlier.
He said that till the day before, 2, 66,326 samples were tested in the state. So far, about 4, 10, 64,661 tests have been done in the state.
Additional Chief Secretary Health said that as per the instructions of the Chief Minister, while conducting a large number of testing work in the state, the testing capacity is being increased continuously. A total of 2,66,326 samples were investigated in the last one day, out of which more than 01 lakh 09 thousand were tested through RTPCR taking the total tally of sample testing 4, 10, 64,661 across the state. Last day 97,115 samples have been sent by various districts for RTPCR test.
He informed that so far more than 9, 67,797 people in the state have been free from Covid infection. Out of the total active cases of corona in the state, 2, 47,257 people are in home isolation. He said that the surveillance proceedings are going on continuously. So far, 16,35,77,129 population of 3,38,99,259 households have been surveyed through 5,84,743 team days in 2,44,680 areas through surveillance teams.
Inauguration of Phase III of Covid immunization drive
Prasad said that the third phase of Covid vaccination was started by the Chief Minister today. Under this, today, from May 01, 2021, people between 18 and 44 years of age as well as those above 45 years of age are being vaccinated.
He told that people aged 18 to 44 can register for vaccination over Aarogya Setu app and CoWin app. Only those 18 to 44 years old who register through the software will be vaccinated. Vaccination of people without registration will not be done.
He told that people over 45 years of age can register both through online registration software and on-the-spot registration.
He said that till now 1, 02, 44,986 people have been given the first dose of vaccine and out of the first dose, 23, 22,998 people have been administered the second dose of vaccine. Thus, a total of 1, 25, 87,984 vaccines have been given.
Monitoring committees are investigating people coming from outside state
Prasad informed that arrangements are being made by the state government for testing, surveillance, medicine and beds in hospitals.
He told that today more than 8500 cases have been cured in a day due to the case of Covid, which came in the state in a day. He informed that people coming from outside in the state are being examined by the Rural and Urban Monitoring Committees on the symptoms of Covid, besides providing medicines and providing all kinds of assistance to the Covid infected people.

Government’s appeal, follow the Covid Protocol
ACS Medical appealed to the people to wear the mask when stepping out of home, washing of hands with sanitizer and soap. Avoid visiting crowded places. The infection rate has come down due to people’s efforts and awareness.
He informed that the infection is not yet eradicated; hence special precautions are needed, after vaccination must also follow the Covid protocol.
