Amid Covid vaccine shortage, Haryana, Rajasthan, Assam report maximum wastage

New Delhi, 10 May: According to the Union Health Ministry, to speed up the corona vaccination, the government has sent a total of 18 crore vaccine doses to the states and union territories free of charge.

Out of this, the states and union territories have put up to 16.89 crore vaccine doses. The remaining one crore doses still exist with the states. According to the government, 9 lakh vaccine doses will be given to the states in the next three days.

It is worth mentioning that the third phase of vaccination has also started across the country, in which people between 18 and 44 years are also getting vaccinated. For this, people have to register on the CoWin app or Aarogya Setu app. The registration process has started from April 28.

Maximum wastage of vaccine in Haryana

Meanwhile, highest wastage of Covid-19 vaccines is in Haryana, Assam, Rajasthan. The percentage of wastage here is 5 to 6 percent. Earlier, the maximum vaccine was being wasted in Tamil Nadu, but now it is improving from 9 percent to 4 percent.
