CM Yogi instructs genome sequencing of more and more samples to determine Delta Plus variant of Covid-19

Lucknow, June 25: In a review meeting held on Friday with Team-09 regarding Covid management, CM Yogi instructed that genome sequencing of more and more samples should be done for in-depth investigation of the Delta Plus variant of Covid-19.

Meanwhile, patients infected with Delta Plus, a new variant of the novel coronavirus disease (Covid-19), are being found in many states of the country. The concern of the Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh has increased regarding this.

Delta Plus is more dangerous than ever

The Chief Minister said that Uttar Pradesh will have to take special vigil. According to experts, this time the variant is more dangerous than before. The State Level Health Expert Advisory Committee has prepared a detailed recommendation report to prevent this. According to the report, it can be more harmful for children of other age groups. All necessary steps should be taken as per the advice of experts without delay.

Genome sequencing of passengers should be done

He said that genome sequencing should be done by taking samples of people coming to the state by railway, bus, air route. Samples should also be taken from districts. According to the result, mapping of Delta Plus variant effective areas should be done. Necessary arrangements should be made in KGMU and BHU to facilitate genome sequencing in the state.

Sero survey results good

Yogi said that the preliminary results of the Sero Survey conducted in the past are giving good signs. According to preliminary results, high level antibodies have been confirmed in people in the survey. We have to understand that everyone’s role is important in this fight against the virus. We have to incorporate covid prevention practices like double mask, sanitization, two yards in our lifestyle.

Chief Minister Yogi said that the state is becoming self-sufficient in the field of oxygen generation. Tomorrow 05 more plants have been approved. With continuous efforts, now 114 oxygen plants have become functional. With the help of the Government of India, the oxygen plants under construction through PM Cares should be made functional by August 15. Nodal officer should be posted for monitoring. Continuous review of the works related to the establishment of the plant should be done.

On this occasion, the team-9 informed that so far more than 02 crore 90 lakh vaccine doses have been administered in Uttar Pradesh. About 42 lakh people have received both the doses of the vaccine. Our policy of vaccination by dividing the development blocks into clusters has yielded good results.

Officials said that the infection rate has come down to less than 0.1 percent, while the recovery rate is 98.5 percent. In most districts, new cases of infection are coming in unit digits. At the same time, there are less than 50 active cases in more than 50-52 districts. At present, the total active cases have come down to 3423.

He said that while 2, 69, 272 sample tests were conducted in the last 24 hours, only 226 new positive cases surfaced and 320 people were discharged after getting healthy. So far 05, 65, 40, 503 Covid tests have been done in Uttar Pradesh.
