New Delhi, June 25: Even after taking both doses of the corona vaccine, 76 percent people got infected with SARS-CoV-2, responsible virus for Covid-19.
Of these, 10 per cent had to be hospitalized and one died. The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) released the report of the study done in this regard which has been published in the medical journal Research Square.
According to this report, 76 percent people have been found corona infected after taking both doses of the vaccine. After contracting the infection, only 16 percent of these people were found without symptoms, while about 10 percent had to be admitted to hospitals.
According to this study published in the medical journal Research Square, samples of 361 people who had taken the vaccine from across the country were sent for examination to the regional lab of ICMR in Bhubaneswar. Infection was detected in 274 people after taking both doses of the vaccine. These people came under the grip of corona virus 14 days after taking both doses of the vaccine.
Report says, of these, 35 (12.8%) took both doses of Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin, whereas 239 (87.2 per cent) had taken both doses of Serum Institute of India’s Covishield.
However, the ICMR has also clarified on the ongoing controversy about Covishield and Covaxin that more antibodies are being made in those taking Covishield, while only 77 percent antibodies have been found in those taking Covaxin.
