95 percent work of Purvanchal Expressway completed, to be opened for traffic soon

Lucknow, July 25: The construction work of the Yogi government’s ambitious project Purvanchal Expressways is nearing completion. It is proposed to inaugurate this expressway soon. After this the main carriageway of the expressway will be opened for traffic.

The Uttar Pradesh Expressways Development Authority (UPEDA) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Awanish Kumar Awasthi did a package-wise review of the Purvanchal Expressway by vehicle on Sunday. First of all, he inspected the construction works of Package I in Lucknow district.

During this, Awasthi directed the officers of the executing organization to complete the construction works of ROB 01 and ROB 02 under construction in package one at the earliest. After this he inspected the construction works in package 02. Here he talked about development keeping in mind the environment by planting trees and instructed the representatives of the manufacturing companies to complete the construction work soon and open the main carriageway of the expressway for traffic soon.

Along with this, Awasthi also directed to complete the construction of way-side amenities and toilet blocks at the earliest for the convenience of the passengers.

After this, the CEO of UPEDA also inspected the ROB under construction in package 03 and instructed to complete the work soon. After inspecting the airstrip in package 04, Awasthi said that soon the main carriageway would be opened for traffic by inaugurating the Purvanchal Expressway.

Awasthi also inspected the construction work of Railway over Bridge (ROB) under construction in package 05. Here, he inspected the Diamond Interchange being built on the expressway near Bhelara village and instructed to complete it soon.

While inspecting and reviewing the construction works of packages 05 and 06, he directed the representatives of the construction companies to ensure that the construction work is completed expeditiously keeping in mind the quality so that the construction work of the expressway can be completed within the stipulated time frame.

After this, Awasthi conducted on-site inspection of the construction works of packages 07 and 08 in Mau and Ghazipur districts. Directing the concerned officials there, Awasthi said that the remaining work of the expressway should be completed soon.

Apart from this, keeping in mind the quality in the construction work of the service lane, instructions were also given to complete the construction work expeditiously.

After conducting on-site inspection, the Chief Executive Officer of UPEIDA informed that more than 95 percent work of construction of Purvanchal Expressway has been completed. Soon after completing the construction work, the main carriageway of the expressway will be opened for the passengers. Now the eastern regions of the state will get direct connectivity to the capital of the country, Delhi. In this inspection tour, Additional Chief Executive Officer of UPEDA Shrish Chandra Verma, Chief Engineer Salil Yadav, other senior officers of UPEDA, Executive Engineer of PIU and the team of RITES India Ltd., a company affiliated by UPEDA for project monitoring were also present
