Lucknow, 16 September: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed all educational institutions in the state to remain closed on September 17 and 18 due to incessant rains in Uttar Pradesh.
Yogi has also issued instructions to all the divisional commissioners and district magistrates of the state to carry out relief work with full preparedness.
Yogi said here on Thursday evening that senior officers should visit the area and keep an eye on the relief work. Also, on the next two days i.e. on September 17 and 18, all educational institutions including schools and colleges of the state should be closed. The Chief Minister has also appealed to the people to take precautions.
The Chief Minister told the officers that in view of this calamity, relief work should be done effectively in the districts. Immediate relief should be provided to the people affected by the disaster. In case of water logging, arrangement for drainage should be made on priority. He has directed the officers of the respective districts to assess the damage caused by this disaster.
Significantly, the state has been raining continuously for two days. Strong winds are also blowing along with rain in most parts of the state. All the houses and trees are falling due to this. Many people have also lost their lives in this disaster. The Lucknow district administration has even advised people not to step out of their homes due to heavy rains.
