New Delhi, 20 September: Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Monday announced the resumption of ‘Vaccine Friendship’ from October.
He said that in the last quarter of the year under ‘Vaccine Maitri’ (Vaccine friendship), India will also provide vaccines to other countries of the world. More than 30 crore vaccines will be available in the country from October.
Addressing the media on Monday, the Health Minister said that India will resume export of vaccines under Vaccine Maitri in line with ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’.
He informed that more supply of vaccines will be used to fulfil our commitment to the world for collective fight against Corona.
Mansukh Mandaviya said that it is due to the untiring efforts and guidance of the Prime Minister that India is simultaneously doing research and production on Corona vaccines. India’s vaccination campaign has been a model for the world and it is progressing very fast.
He said that since the vaccination campaign started on January 16, it took 85 days to reach the figure of 100 million vaccines. After this, it took 45 days to apply the next 10 crore vaccines. The number of days is continuously decreasing. It has taken only 11 days to apply the last 10 crore doses. The vaccination program is going on at a rapid pace.
It is noteworthy that at present, a total of 80.85 crore vaccine doses have been given in the country.
