New Delhi, 20 September: The Supreme Court has refused to hear on the petition regarding opening of schools across the country. During the hearing on the petition of a class 12 student living in Delhi, the court said that we do not say that the petition has been filed for publicity but it is better that you focus on studies. In every state, the government is taking decisions according to the circumstances.
It was said in the petition that schools should be opened and guidelines should be issued to take a time-bound decision to start offline education. It was said in the petition that the policies of the Central and state governments are being lax regarding the introduction of physical education in schools.
Advocate Ravi Prakash Mehrotra, appearing for the petitioner, said that students are being affected badly due to online studies instead of physical studies. This is having a negative impact on them psychologically. It was said in the petition that it is not possible to conduct online classes for economically weaker children. In such a situation, they are resorting to private tuition or coaching.
It was said in the petition that the student community in India is being deprived of their studies without offline studies in schools. This deprives them of their right to get education. This is a violation of Articles 14 and 21 of the Constitution.
