Kushinagar, 23 September: Flight from the Kushinagar International Airport (KIA) is possible in the month of October. Although no official date has been announced yet. But considering the possibility, preparations have been started.
District Magistrate (DM) S. Rajalingam told this to reporters on Thursday afternoon. The DM had come to the airport to take a meeting of the Environmental Committee. He also reviewed the preparations for the flight after meeting with Airport Director AK Dwivedi and shared its information.
In the meeting, instructions were given to the concerned department to complete the construction of the airport to four lane approach road at the earliest. The Kushinagar Special Area Development Authority (KSADA) will not approve any maps in 41 villages without the NOC of the Airport Authority. KSADA will appoint its own surveyor for NOC. The surveyor will complete the process of NOC in coordination with the airport authority. In order to prevent the accidents of bird hits during the flight, restrictions will be imposed on open meat cutting, slaughter house etc. within the radius of 5 km of the airport.
Tehsil, Police, KSADA and Municipal Administration will soon hold an awareness campaign with the people of the respective village. Boards to this effect will also be put up in villages.
When the DM asked about arranging the garden outside the terminal building, then manager security Santosh Maurya told about giving this work to a private company in Gorakhpur and he said that the work has been delayed due to waterlogging.
The DM directed the concerned officers to complete the unfinished works at the earliest. Joint Magistrate Purna Bora, SDM Pramod Tiwari, Executive Officer Prem Shankar Gupta, DPRO Abhay Kumar Yadav etc. should be present.
