Mumbai, October 13: The bail of film actor Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan and two other accused in the drugs party case on the “Cordelia the Impress” cruise ship could not be decided on Wednesday. The Special Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS) Court adjourned the hearing of the matter till Thursday.
The hearing on the bail plea of โโAryan Khan, his friend Arbaaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha, arrested in the Drugs Party case, began on Wednesday in the Special NDPS Court.
Counsel for the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) said that Aryan Khan was involved in the conspiracy of the drugs case. He has links with the international drug mafia and has taken drugs from his partner several times. Although he did not consume drugs during the party on the cruise ship and even though drugs and cash have not been recovered from him, but he is related to drug smugglers.
He said that if Aryan Khan is granted bail, it may affect the investigation of the case.
After this Aryan Khan’s lawyer Amit Desai started presenting the side.
Amit Desai told the court that NCB has not recovered drugs from Aryan Khan and he has also not consumed drugs. No cash has also been recovered from Aryan Khan.
Amit Desai also presented a copy of the decisions of many courts of the country in this regard. Amit Desai’s cross-examination continued for three hours. As soon as their arguments were over, the court adjourned the hearing of the case till Thursday.
Earlier, NCB filed its reply in the Special Court. In this, opposing Aryan Khan’s bail, it has been said that even though there was no recovery from Aryan, he is involved in this conspiracy. Aryan Khan is an influential person and can tamper with evidence if he is granted bail.
It is noteworthy that on October 2, after raiding the cruise ship going from Mumbai to Goa, the NCB arrested eight accused, including Aryan Khan, on October 3 after interrogation.
Meanwhile, all these accused are presently in judicial custody for 14 days. On October 8, the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court of Mumbai refused to hear the bail plea of โโthese eight accused and asked them to apply in the special court. So far 20 accused including two Nigerian nationals have been arrested in the Drugs Party case.
