New Delhi, 21 October: The Central Government has increased the Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) of its employees and pensioners by three percent respectively. This hike will come into effect from July 1 2021 and will now increase from 28 per cent to 31 per cent of the basic salary or pension.
The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday approved a proposal to the said effect.
Union Information and Broadcasting (I&B) Minister Anurag Thakur informed that 47.14 lakh central employees and 68.62 lakh pensioners will get the benefit of the government’s decision. The decision will put an additional burden of Rs.9488.70 crore on the revenue.
