New Delhi, 12 November: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday accused the Congress of attacking Hinduism and blamed Rahul Gandhi for it.

The party said that it has been the nature of the Congress and the Gandhi family that whenever they get a chance, they attack Hinduism.

BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said in a press conference that it is a matter of great sadness that within 24 hours Hindu religion is attacked thrice by the Congress party. Such work is done by senior Congress leaders Salman Khurshid, Rashid Alvi and now their tallest leader Rahul Gandhi himself.

Patra said that Rahul Gandhi has kept his clarification on Salman Khurshid’s statement, on his book. He has attacked Hinduism and Hindutva.

He said that it has been the character of Congress and Gandhi family that whenever they get a chance, they attack Hinduism.

“On December 17, 2010, Rahul Gandhi had said that the danger to the country is from Hindus more than terrorism. P Chidambaram used the word ‘saffron terrorism’ for the first time on 25 August 2010,” said Patra.

The BJP leader said that a newspaper had published the statement of Rahul Gandhi that yes we are a party of Muslims. Salman Khurshid speaks against Hinduism, compares it to Boko Haram and ISIS, Shashi Tharoor calls Hindu Taliban or when saffron is called terrorism, the words Digvijay Singh and Mani Shankar Aiyar use against Hinduism. Actually this is not a coincidence. The biggest leader of this laboratory is Rahul Gandhi.

Patra said that people like Shashi Tharoor, Salman Khurshid, Digvijay Singh and Mani Shankar Aiyar give outrageous statements against Hinduism after Rahul Gandhi’s teachings and sayings.

Referring to a statement of the former Congress President, he said that there was a time when Rahul Gandhi had said – girls who go to the temple get teased. In Hinduism, there are temple-goers and Rahul Gandhi goes to the temple just before the election.

BJP spokesperson said that Rahul does not go to temple because of faith, but he goes to ask for votes, he goes to do politics of votes.
