Lucknow, December 21: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reviewed the Covid situation by holding a high-level meeting at his official residence here on Tuesday.
He instructed to keep the arrangements for prevention and treatment of Covid infection continuously effective. The Chief Minister said that the Covid protocol should be followed completely.
While placing the report before the Chief Minister during the meeting, the officials said that in the last 24 hours, 23 new cases of corona infection have been reported in the state. During this period 15 persons were discharged after successful treatment. At present, the number of active cases of corona in the state is 211.
Ambedkar Nagar, Amethi, Auraiya, Ayodhya, Azamgarh, Badaun, Banda, Barabanki, Basti, Bahraich, Chandauli, Chitrakoot, Etah, Etawah, Farrukhabad, Firozabad, Gonda, Gorakhpur, Hapur, Hardoi, Hathras, Jaunpur, Kasganj, Kaushambi, Kushinagar , Lalitpur, Mahoba, Mainpuri, Mau, Mirzapur, Pilibhit, Pratapgarh, Sant Kabirnagar, Shamli, Shravasti, Siddharthnagar, Sitapur and Sultanpur do not have a single patient of Covid.
The Chief Minister said that effective efforts should be made to further ramp up the Covid immunization. People should be made aware about the usefulness of vaccination. A separate list of people who have not received the first dose till now should be prepared. Those whose second dose is overdue, a separate list should be made. Disabled, destitute, old people should be contacted and vaccinated.
In the meeting, the Chief Minister was apprised that till last day more than 18 crore 74 lakh 50 thousand doses of corona vaccine have been administered in the state. More than 6 crore 47 lakh 94 thousand people have been provided with both the doses of the vaccine whereas over 12 crore 26 lakh 55 thousand people have received the first dose of Covid vaccine. This number is 83.20 percent of the total population of the state eligible for vaccination. In the last 24 hours, one lakh 51 thousand 687 corona tests were conducted in the state. So far nine crore 10 lakh 54 thousand 537 Covid tests have been done in the state.
The Chief Minister said that planned efforts should be made to provide better health facilities in the districts like Jhansi, Mahoba, Chitrakoot of Bundelkhand region. The number of beds in government hospitals in these districts should be increased.
He said that the hospitals which have a bed capacity of 100, those hospitals should be upgraded to 200 beds. For this, action should be taken on priority.
The Chief Minister said that in view of the cold wave, night shelters should be operated effectively in all the districts. Strict arrangements should be made for cleanliness and safety in the shelters. Administrative and police officers in each district should ensure that no one sleeps in the open. If anyone sees this, he should be taken to the night shelter. He instructed to light bonfires at important places and distribute blankets to the needy.
The Chief Minister directed that the work of setting up the under-construction oxygen plant should be completed at the earliest. Arrangement of trained technical personnel should be ensured for the operation of oxygen plant. So far 551 oxygen plants have been made functional in the state.
Yogi has given instructions to maintain all necessary arrangements at all the paddy purchasing centers. He said that the District Magistrates should inspect the paddy purchasing centers. Farmers should not face any inconvenience in selling their produce. Nodal officers posted in the districts should be fully active. He said that farmers should be paid the price of their produce on time.
