Ghaziabad, 22 December: The Ghaziabad Police with the Crime Branch raided the Muradnagar area and busted such a gang which was operating illegal arms-manufacturing factory on Wednesday.
According to the police, gang used to manufacture and supply on-demand firearms in NCR and adjoining districts. Police arrested 5 members of this gang and recovered a huge quantity of ready-made guns and equipment for making firearms from their possession. This gang is being run by Meerut resident Zahooruddin, who has been an expert in making illegal weapons for a long time.
Rural Superintendent of Police (SP) Iraj Raja told that Muradnagar police had received input that a gang of Meerut is working in the area to manufacture and supply illegal firearms. Police raided today with the team of Crime Branch and arrested Aman alias Annu, Yusuf Noor Hasan, resident of Lisadi Gate, Meerut, and Salman, a resident of Zafarabad Delhi red-handed while making firearms from the factory while their accomplices Zulfiqar Shahid and Chand Pehalwan have absconded.
Raja told that these people used to make arms on-demand and supply them in Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Gautam Budh Nagar, Bulandshahr, Baghpat, Delhi and NCR areas.
He further apprised that this is an organized gang which is being operated from Meerut.
Adding further, he told that the police are busy in making detailed information about who is behind this gang.
