Lucknow: 75000 children sing ‘Vande Mataram’ to mark 75 yrs of Independence

Lucknow, 22 December: On the 75th anniversary of Independence, 75 thousand children of 75 schools collectively celebrated the “Amrit Mahatsov” of Independence by singing Vande Mataram in KD Singh Babu Stadium, capital Lucknow on Thursday.

The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was present as the chief guest in this program. The program was inaugurated by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Awadh province’s Pracharak Kaushal by lighting the lamp.

Avneesh Singh and Prashant Bhatia, President and Member Legislative Council of Krida Bharti Awadh Province honoured the Chief Minister by presenting memento and bouquet of flowers.

Addressing the program, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the country got freedom not because of seeking independence but because of struggle and sacrifices. The ‘Amrit Mahotsav of Azadi’ is an opportunity to connect with those resolutions of the country’s independence and those revolutionaries whose sacrifice has given the country independence. The collective effort to get freedom for the country was first shown in 1857.

In the courtyard of KD Singh Babu Stadium, 75 thousand students of different schools made a map of united India through human chain. For Lucknow, this is the first time in the history when so many children together with the tricolour in their hands collectively sang Vande Mataram.

In this program, the Chief Minister honoured freedom fighters, kin of Kargil martyrs and soldiers who received gallantry awards.

The program was organized by Amrit Mahotsav Organizing Committee Lucknow and Krida Bharti Avadh Province.

Apart from various cultural programs, artists performed various arts including Kalaripattu and Dand Yudh on this occasion. Isha and Misha gave a splendid performance of Kathak dance. Bharat Natyam program Gyanendra Dutt Bajpai of Bhatkhande, special dance Tanishk Bansal and Reena presented folk dance.

In the program, 75 thousand students of 75 schools, 75 professional colleges and degree colleges including CMS School, St. Joseph’s College, LPS School, Pioneer School, Eram School, Rajat College and Aryakul participated. Patriotic singing was performed by various types of rock bands.

The Chief Minister honored freedom fighter Dr. Prahlad Prasad Prajapati, Param Vir Chakra awardee Captain Manoj Pandey’s father Gopichand Pandey and Marty Sunil Jung’s mother Bina Jain were honored. Similarly, Kamala Devi, wife of Keolanand Dwivedi, who was martyred in the Kargil war, was honored. Apart from this, Brigadier Naveen Singh awarded Vir Chakra and Vishisht Seva Medal, Major Dhirendra Nath Singh awarded Vir Chakra, Capt Chanchal Singh awarded Shaurya Chakra, Colonel Raghunath Pratap Singh awarded Vir Chakra and Captain Shatrughan Singh honored with Vir Chakra
