Covid-19 3rd wave warning: Precaution dose to be given to 20 lakh health care, frontline workers in UP

Lucknow, December 27: After the announcement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, anti-coronavirus vaccination will be started across the state from next month for children from 15 to 18 year olds. At the same time, after the availability of two Covid-19 vaccines, now a new corona vaccine Zydus Cadila will also be administered to the people free of cost.

On the one hand, caution is being taken across Uttar Pradesh regarding the new variant of coronavirus, Omicron, while on the other hand, the Yogi government is committed to provide a vaccine shield to the people of the state.

General Manager of Immunization and Maternal Health Dr Manoj Shukla informed that after the release of new guidelines regarding vaccination of adolescents by the Central Government, an action plan will be prepared by the department. Under this, the children of 15 to 18 years will be vaccinated at the earliest.

Dr Shukla told that from January, the frontline workers and health care workers in the state would be given precaution dose. This dose will be given to about 10 lakh frontline workers and 10 lakh health care workers in the state. He told that this precaution dose is to be given in a phased manner.

Let us inform that in order to achieve the target set by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, call slips are being sent door-to-door for the first and second doses of vaccination. Vaccination booths have been set up in the area as per the convenience of the people, in which the first and second doses are being given.

Zydus Cadila’s vaccine will be given in 14 districts in the first phase

Dr Manoj Shukla Shukla informed that in the first phase, the vaccine of Zydus Cadila Company will be available in 14 districts. This includes Lucknow, Agra, Aligarh, Ayodhya, Azamgarh, Bareilly, Ghaziabad, Gorakhpur, Kanpur Nagar, Meerut, Moradabad, Prayagraj, Saharanpur and Varanasi.

โ€œSo far, four types of corona vaccine are being administered to the people in the state. These include Covaxin, Covishield and Sputnik. Like Covaxin and Covishield in government hospitals, now Zydus vaccine will also be provided free of cost. Zydus is a three-dose vaccine to be administered at an interval of 28-28 days. This vaccine will only be available to those over the age of 18.

More than 19 crore vaccine doses have been administered

To ramp up vaccination in the state, the state government is speeding up the vaccination drive in all the districts under a simple policy. A new guideline is being prepared by the state government to start anti-corona vaccination for adolescents of 15 to 18 years.

Along with this, in view of the increase in the cases of corona, under the new guideline issued by the Central Government, the CM gave orders to the officers to act swiftly regarding surveillance, test, vaccination, screening, following covid rules, sanitization.

So far more than 19 crore 51 lakh vaccine doses have been given in the state, in which more than 12 crore 56 lakh first doses and more than 06 crore 95 lakh second doses have been given.

So far more than 9 crore 21 lakh tests have been done in the state. In the last 24 hours, only 40 cases of infection were confirmed in more than 01 lakh 80 thousand tests. During this 38 people defeated the infection. The number of active cases in the state is 324, while the recovery rate is 98.6 percent.
