Kanpur, 29 December: In the case of conspiracy to incite riots and vandalizing the vehicle during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally in Nirala Nagar, Kanpur, the police have arrested five people so far by registering a case at Naubasta police station, out of which four are accused.
The arrest has been made from Lucknow. The five arrested are activists of the Samajwadi Party (SP). Additional Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Anand Prakash Tiwari confirmed the arrest of SP workers on Wednesday. He said that the search for other persons is on.
Anand Prakash Tiwari said that the four people who have been arrested from Lucknow include national secretary of SP Chhatra Sabha Sachin Kesarwani, district spokesperson of Mulayam Singh Youth Brigade Sukant Sharma, youth brigade city secretary Abhishek Rawat and Aniket Kumar. The search is on for the others.
He said that the police have also recovered the vandalized car. In this case, the police have registered an FIR against the accused SP leaders of Kanpur in Naubasta police station under different sections of the Indian Penal Code.
Just before the Prime Minister’s rally, in Naubasta area of โโKanpur, the SP leader himself had vandalized and arson by putting a poster of Prime Minister Modi on his own vehicle. In this he was accompanied by seven other people of SP.
It is alleged that SP leaders vandalized and set fire to the car in an attempt to riot at Prime Minister Modi’s program. Its video went viral.
As soon as the video went viral, the police caught the car owner showing readiness. After interrogation, the secret was revealed and the police also arrested four other SP workers who vandalized from Lucknow.
It is noteworthy that after the inauguration of Kanpur Metro, some SP leaders were burning the effigy of Prime Minister Modi in Naubasta. During this, when the BJP worker stopped him, the SP workers broke the car by pelting stones. When its video went viral on social media, the police swung into action.
Police Commissioner Aseem Arun spoke of strict action against those who did this. When the police started investigation in this case, a big disclosure came to light. In the investigation of the police, it was found that a conspiracy was hatched to create a big ruckus regarding the rally of the Prime Minister. The purpose of provoking the atmosphere through this sabotage also came to the fore.
