New Delhi, 05 January: The Punjab government has suspended Ferozepur SSP Harmandeep Singh Hans after the Punjab government has been questioned over the major breach in the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s security on Wednesday.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has sought the resignation of Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi on this issue.

On the other hand, Chief Minister Channi defended the Prime Minister’s security by saying at a press conference in the evening in Chandigarh. The protesters suddenly came in front of their convoy. There was no danger to him. If it is being considered a mistake, then he is ready to get it investigated.

The Prime Minister reached Bathinda in the morning. From there he had to fly by helicopter to the National Martyrs Memorial at Hussainiwala. Due to rain and poor visibility, the prime minister waited for about 20 minutes for the weather to clear. After this it was decided that he would go to Firozpur by road.

The Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) confirmed the necessary security arrangements. After that he left. When the Prime Minister’s convoy reached the flyover about 30 km before the National Martyrs Memorial at Hussainiwala, some protesters blocked the road there. The Prime Minister was stuck on the flyover for about 20 minutes. After this it was decided to return to Bathinda airport.

After returning safely to Bathinda airport, Prime Minister Modi told the officers present there to thank CM Channi that he has returned alive till the airport.

Taking cognizance of this serious lapse in security, the Union Home Ministry has sought a report from the state government. The Ministry of Home Affairs has directed the Punjab Government to fix the responsibility of this lapse and take strict action.

The Home Ministry has said that it was decided to return the Prime Minister to Bathinda airport after this serious security lapse.

On this issue, Union Minister Smriti Irani targeted the ruling party in Punjab and said that today the bloody intentions of Congress in Punjab failed.

She questioned why the Director General of Police, Punjab, informed the protesters about the security of the Prime Minister, the route on which the Prime Minister’s convoy was to go.

In a press conference held at the BJP headquarters, Smriti Irani said that the Congress may hate Modi but the account should not be taken from India and the Prime Minister of India.

Irani questioned why the Punjab DGP lied to the Prime Minister’s security squad, how the Prime Minister’s car was allowed to reach that place, who informed the people blocking the way of the Prime Minister’s convoy.

Smriti Irani said that when the Punjab Chief Minister’s office was contacted, no one responded and Prime Minister Narendra Modi was stuck for 20 minutes.

She said that never before in the history of the country, police personnel in any state were given instructions and facilities to disturb and harm the security of any Prime Minister.

The Union Minister said that the law and order in Punjab is so broken that the DGP claims that he is unable to provide security assistance and security details to the PMO.

On this development, senior BJP leader and Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat targeted the Punjab government and said that giving information about the route of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the protesters and then facilitating them to block the road is a criminal conspiracy.

Punjab BJP election in-charge Shekhawat said in a series of tweets that this is a serious game with the security of the Prime Minister of the country. Whatever leaders, ministers and officers are responsible for this, strict action should be taken against them.

The BJP National President JP Nadda has also said that the security of the Prime Minister has been played with in Punjab.

Nadda has also made a series of tweets on this development. He said that the Congress government of Punjab has shown that it is anti-development by its lousy antics. Nadda said that Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi refused to talk over the phone or resolve the entire matter.
