Lucknow, January 07: The number of new novel coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases in Uttar Pradesh has been soaring for the last few days. Within the last 24 hours, 4228 new patients have been found in the state.
However, there are a total of 12,327 active cases of corona in the state at present. Of these, 11,959 people are in home isolation.
State’s Additional Additional Chief Secretary Medical and Health Amit Mohan Prasad told here on Friday that a total of 2, 19,256 samples were tested in the state yesterday. 1, 20,344 samples have been sent from different districts for RTPCR test. There have been 4228 new cases of corona infection.
He said that a total of 9, 42, 09,031 samples have been tested so far across the state. He said that in the last 24 hours, 119 totalling of 16, 88,224 people have been cured of Covid-19. There are a total of 12,327 active cases of corona in the state, out of which 11,959 people are in home isolation.
Vaccination work continues
Prasad informed that the work of Covid immunization is being done continuously. Yesterday, 13,05,03,000 first dose was given to people above 18 years in the state, which is 88.52 percent of people above 18 years of age. The second dose is 7, 68, 83,945 which is 52.15 percent of the people above 18 years of age. So far, a total of 20, 73, 86,945 doses have been given to people above 18 years.
He said that so far 12, 16,167 first doses of vaccine have been given to children of 15 to 18 years, which is about 8.68 percent of their estimated number. A total of 17, 20,551 doses were given in a day in the state on January 06, 2022.
The ACS Health said that everyone must get their Covid vaccination done. Those who have taken the first dose, they must also take their second dose on time.
He said that the need for hospitalization is becoming negligible just by getting the Covid vaccination. The covid infection is not completely over yet. Therefore everyone should follow covid norms.
