Gorakhpur, 15 January: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that while getting effective control over coronavirus disease, the biggest pandemic of the century in the country and the world, the government has successfully saved lives as well as the livelihood of the people. The third wave has been handled with utmost efficiency and success, leveraging the experience gained in managing the first and second weve of COVID. Omicron, the new variant of the corona that appeared in the third wave, is not very deadly, yet caution and vigilance is very necessary to prevent and overcome it.
Chief Minister Yogi was interacting with media persons on Saturday after inspecting the Covid Hospital at BRD Medical College and the Regional Medical Research Center (RMRC) located in the same premises.
Yogi said that it was taking 15 days to a month for the patients to become negative in the second wave of corona. There were also cases of critical problem of lungs and post covid. In comparison, the third weve is not that dangerous. According to experts regarding the new variant Omicron, in the trends that have come to light so far, it is like a normal viral fever. Its positivity rate in the state is 6 percent, but 99 percent of the cases are of home isolation. Continuous review is being done by contacting the Home Isolated people through the Integrated Control and Command Center. Medicine kits have been made available to home isolated people.
Referring to the corona cases in Gorakhpur, the Chief Minister said that there are 2241 active cases, out of which only 12 had to be admitted to the hospital. That is, hospitalization has been required in only 0.5 percent of the cases. The remaining patients are in home isolation.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the corona virus is getting weaker now but still everyone has to be careful and vigilant. Everyone should follow the guidelines set by the government.
Vaccine best way to prevent covid
CM Yogi said that experts from all over the world have agreed that vaccine is the best way to prevent Covid. Everyone must get vaccinated. Those who have not yet got the vaccine, they should get the vaccine by January 25 in any case. Those who have taken the first dose, take the second dose. Take both doses, as well as people over the age of two years and those with a serious illness (comorbidity) precautions or a booster dose.
22.5 crore doses of vaccine have been administered in the state
The Chief Minister informed that 22.5 crore doses of Covid vaccine have been administered in the state. Adolescents in the age group of 15 to 17 years are also being vaccinated on a large scale. So far 47.25 lakh adolescents have been vaccinated.
He said that the target is to vaccinate a total of 35.50 lakh people in Gorakhpur, out of which 29.59 lakh have been vaccinated. Vaccination of 33 percent (101500) youth has been done here.
The CM said that he has also directed the Chief Secretary to regularly review the vaccination.
Success achieved under the guidance of PM Modi
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the whole world is facing the corona epidemic for the last two and a half years. Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country has not only succeeded in this epidemic but has set a unique example of its prevention. It has been appreciated by the World Health Organization and many organizations of the world. Being the largest state of the country, Corona was a big challenge in UP. This was further worrying due to the neglect of health infrastructure by the previous governments. But with the guidance of PM Modi and the excellent teamwork of health workers, corona warriors, a great example of covid management was presented.
Today, complete system of investigation, treatment in every district
The Chief Minister said that in March 2020, when the first case of corona came in the state, there was no facility to investigate it. Today there is complete system of investigation and treatment in all 75 districts of the state. Today the state has a capacity of four lakh corona tests per day. 1.80 lakh beds are available in level one, two and three. There was a shortage of oxygen in the second wave of Covid. At this time, with the help of Government of India, Air Force, Railways, oxygen supply was ensured from tankers. At present the state is self-sufficient in terms of oxygen and there are 558 functional oxygen plants.
Referring to the corona test in Gorakhpur, he said that BRD Medical College has the facility of 10000 RTPCR tests per day. Also Liquid Medical Oxygen Plant and PSA Plant are functional in this Medical College. BRD Medical College has 500 beds dedicated COVID hospital with oxygen out of which 300 beds are with ventilator and HFNC facility.
