Shamli, January 15: The Samajwadi Party (SP) MLA from Kairana Nahid Hasan has been arrested by the police from Kairana Shamli Marg. He was wanted in gangster case. The MLA was produced in the Additional District and Sessions Court, FTC Court.
Kairana MLA Nahid Hasan was going to the collectorate on Saturday for information regarding his nomination related to the assembly elections. On receiving the news, the police arrested MLA Nahid Hasan from Kairana Shamli Road. Soon after, the police produced him in the Additional District and Sessions Court, FTC Court. For security, the court complex was converted into a cantonment by the police force.
The Superintendent of Police (SP) Sukirti Madhav said that in the month of February, a case was registered against 40 accused including SP MLA Nahid Hasan and his mother former MP Tabassum Hasan under Gangster Act in Kotwali. Earlier in this case, many accused had surrendered in Kotwali, who have been sent to jail by the Kotwali police. Former MP Tabassum Hasan has got anticipatory bail from the court in the past.
