New Delhi, 23 January: A missing teenager has been found by the Chinese Army near the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Arunachal Pradesh. The local unit of the army had sought help from China’s PLA army by establishing a hotline regarding the missing teenager from Arunachal Pradesh’s Upper-Siang district.
After getting this information from the Chinese Army after about a week, the Indian Army is following the due process to bring him back.
Arunachal Pradesh MP Tapir Gao had tweeted on January 18 that the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) of China kidnapped two teenagers from Jiro village from Lungta Jor area of โโSiungla area from LAC adjoining Upper-Siang district.
The Chinese army has captured and taken 17-year-old youth Meeram Taron with them. Meanwhile, Johnny Yiying, a friend of Miram Taron’s escaping from the PLA, informs the local authorities about his friend’s abduction.
The MP had shared the pictures of the kidnapped teenager and told that the Chinese army had taken him from the border of India, where in 2018 China had made a road within 3-4 km.
MP Tapir said that the incident took place near the place where the Shiang River enters India in Arunachal Pradesh. Both these teenagers had gone to the forest to collect natural herbs and vegetables.
He had appealed to all the ‘agencies’ of the Government of India for the release of the juvenile. He also informed the Union Minister of State for Home Nishith Pramanik about this incident.
In this regard, the local commander of the Indian Army contacted the Chinese Army PLA on the hot line on January 19 and sought assistance to trace him back as per protocol. There was no official statement issued by the Indian Army either after the Chinese PLA did not respond for several days.
Lt Col Harshvardhan Pandey, spokesperson of the Army’s Tezpur unit that oversees Assam and Arunachal Pradesh, was told on Sunday that the missing teenager has been found by the Chinese Army near the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Arunachal Pradesh. After getting this information from the Chinese Army, the Indian Army is following the proper procedure to bring back Kishor.
Actually, there is no fencing on the India-China border, due to which sometimes citizens of each other cross the border. Some time ago the citizens of China also lost their way and reached Sikkim in India.
Later the Indian Army handed him over to the Chinese Army. In September last year also, the Chinese army had taken five youths captive from Upper-Subansari district of Arunachal Pradesh. These youths had gone for hunting in the forest and had entered the border of China during that time. The youths were later released by the efforts of the Indian Army.
