New Delhi, 24 January: The Supreme Court has refused to hear the Kerala government’s plea for more time to complete the trial in the Malayalam actress sexual harassment case. A bench headed by Justice AM Khanwilkar directed the trial court to consider the matter.
Malayalam actor Dileep is also accused in this case. Advocate Mukul Rohatgi, appearing for Dileep, opposed the Kerala government’s plea saying that the state government was running a media trial against Dileep. Then the court said that let the trial court do justice.
In this case, the Supreme Court had ordered to complete the trial by February 15. The Kerala government had demanded to extend the trial of this case for six more months. Dileep is accused of kidnapping the actress and molesting her in a car on February 17, 2017.
