UP: No one should be deprived of free medical kit: Yogi

Lucknow, January 29: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reviewed the Covid-19 situation by holding a meeting of Team-09 on Saturday.

Yogi said that the Covid immunization is going on fast across the state. It is satisfactory that today 99.18 percent of the adult population of the state has received the first dose of the vaccine whereas over 10 crore people i.e. 68.18 percent have been administered double doses of vaccine against coronavirus disease. Uttar Pradesh Testing and Immunization ranks first in the country by giving more than 25 crore 68 lakh Covid vaccinations and more than nine crore 90 lakh tests.

CM Yogi further added in the Covid vaccination of children in the age group of 15 to 17, which started from January 3, more than 63.68 percent adolescents have received the vaccine whereas till January 31, 87.41 percent of the eligible people have also received precaution doses. This situation is encouraging. In view of the participation of the general public in the upcoming assembly elections, there is a need to intensify the vaccination. All necessary efforts should be made in this regard.

Chief Minister Yogi said that the speed of the third wave of coronavirus in the state is slowing down with the passing of time. The situation is completely under control in all 75 districts. In the testing of two lakh two thousand 582 samples done in the last 24 hours, a total of eight thousand 338 new infected were confirmed. In the same period, 13 thousand 910 people got treatment and cured. Today, the total number of active Covid cases in the state has come down to 59 thousand 601. Out of these, 57 thousand 478 people are getting health benefits at home.

Yogi added so there is no need to panic and get upset, there is a need for vigilance and caution. People should be encouraged to wear masks, take vaccine covers and practice social distancing. This is the best first aid measure.

โ€œIntegrated Covid Command and Control Center (ICCC) set up in all the districts of the state should be kept active 24ร—7. A panel of specialist doctors was present in ICCC. Wide publicity should be given to the ICCC helpline number so that people can contact there immediately in case of any need. Continue to communicate with people from CM Helpline,โ€ he stated.

Yogi said that the special surveillance campaign for the prevention of corona is getting good results. Make it more effective. If the monitoring committees, ASHA and the team of Anganwadi workers go to the house, then take care of the health of all the members. No one should be deprived of free medical kit. Medical assistance should be provided to the handicapped, destitute and old age people sitting at home. Those deprived of vaccination should be identified and given vaccine cover immediately.
