Union Budget 2022-23: India’s economic growth will be 9.2%: FM, Sitharaman announces 400 new-gen Vande Bharat trains

New Delhi, 01 February: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman laid the Union Budget for the financial year 2022-23 in the Parliament.

Presenting the budget in digital form in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday, Sitharaman said that the country’s economic growth is estimated to be 9.2 percent in the current financial year. It is the largest among the major economies of the world.

She said that since the year 2014, our government is engaged in empowering the poor and marginalized people.

This is the fourth consecutive time that Sitharaman is presenting the Union Budget. The challenges before the government this time are many. Inflation has spoiled the kitchen budget. The challenge before the government is to reduce unemployment.

At the same time, the government’s focus is also on increasing disinvestment and exports.

Earlier, the Union Cabinet approved the Union Budget for the financial year 2022-23, after which Sitharaman reached the Parliament House to present the General Budget with the approval of the President.

This time the budget is expected to make big announcements in many important sectors including taxes, infrastructure, agriculture, farmers and women.

Presenting the Union Budget 2022-23 in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman gave a new gift to the railway passengers.

She said that 400 new generations Vande Bharat trains with better efficiency would be introduced during the next three years for the convenience of the passengers.

Reading out the budget speech from her iPad, Sitharaman further said that 100 PM Gati Shakti Cargo Terminals will be developed in the next three years. She added that new standards would be set for the construction of metro system.

Along with this, she announced that the Railways will create new products and efficient logistics service for small farmers and small and medium enterprises.
