New Delhi, 03 February: Schools closed due to coronavirus infection can be reopened soon. On Thursday, the Ministry of Education has issued new guidelines regarding the opening of schools.
According to the new guidelines prepared after the advice of the Union Health Ministry, the state will decide whether the consent of the parents is necessary to send the children to school.
The decision to open schools under the revised guidelines will be decided by the state governments and union territories after reviewing the situation of corona infection.
Under the new Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the reopening of schools, a distance of 6 feet will have to be arranged for the children to sit in the classroom. Social distancing will have to be ensured at every place in the school. Sports, music classes will be allowed to run. Along with proper arrangement of cleanliness, proper distance will also have to be ensured in vehicles taking children to school.
It is noteworthy that at present, schools have been opened in 16 states. Schools have been opened in 11 states with 50 percent attendance. And schools are still closed in 09 states.
