Lakhimpur, 15 February: Ashish Mishra, the main accused in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence and son of Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra Teni, was released on bail on Tuesday after nearly four months. Ashish Mishra got bail from Lucknow Bench of Allahabad High Court.

After bail from the High Court, the order for the release of Ashish Mishra from the district judge’s court reached the jail on Tuesday morning. After this, after completing the paperwork, the jail administration released Ashish in the evening. He has come out of jail after 128 days.

It is worth mentioning that eight people, including four farmers and a journalist, were killed in the violence on October 3 at Tikunia in Lakhimpur Kheri.

In this case, Ashish Mishra, son of Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra Teni, was made the main accused. He was lodged in the Lakhimpur Kheri jail in this case for about four months.

The Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court had granted bail to Ashish Mishra on February 10 itself. The order was passed by a single bench of Justice Rajiv Singh, but there was some clerical error in the bail order and the sections of murder and conspiracy were not mentioned in it, due to which Ashish could not be released from jail.

After this, on Friday, the advocates of Ashish Mishra applied for amendment in the bail order in the court, and then the High Court had issued a revised bail order on Monday.

After receiving the order from the High Court, the bail affidavits were filed in the court of the District Judge only yesterday and District Judge Mukesh Mishra had ordered the concerned SHO and Tehsildar to get the two sureties and the property put in bail by them to be verified.

On receiving the verification report on Tuesday, the District Judge sent the order for the release of Ashish Mishra, who was bailed, to the District Jail Kheri, on the basis of which Ashish Mishra was released on bail.
