Gurugram, February 15: Four youths died after being knocked down by a train at Basai-Dhankot railway halt here on Tuesday evening.
According to the police, they were clicking selfies while standing on the railway track, in the meantime, the train mowed down them. After getting information about the accident, the Government Railway Police (GRP) reached the spot and took the dead bodies into custody. The identity of the dead could not be ascertained till the filing of this news.
As per information, on Tuesday evening, four youths had reached the railway halt here on the Gurugram-Rewari rail track in the name of village Basai-Dhankot in the district. They wandered here for a long time. After this all four of them stood together and started taking selfies. The Jan Shatabdi Express train left for Rewari from Gurugram railway station at around 5.45 pm. The train had just picked up speed that the four youths started taking selfies with the train coming from afar. Suddenly the speed of the train increased. By the time the four youths could understand something, they were hit by the train.
“All four died on the spot in the accident. The bodies of all four were also mutilated. The incident was reported to the GRP. The GRP reached the spot and after registering the ‘panchnama’ of the bodies of the four, the dead bodies have been kept in the crematorium for identification.
The GRP station in-charge Ramphal told that the bodies of all four have been mutilated. Efforts are being made to identify them. As of now no one has been identified.
