Ranchi, 16 February: Former Delhi MLA and BJP leader Kapil Mishra has been stopped by Jharkhand Police at Birsa Munda airport. He has shared this information by tweeting.
He was about to visit to Barhi in Hazaribagh to meet the bereaved family members of Rupesh Pandey, who was a victim of mob lynching during Saraswati immersion when a Muslim man named Mohammad Aslma dragged him towards the crowd and lynched to death.
Kapil has tweeted that I have been stopped by the police at Ranchi airport. There is a ban on exit from the airport. Which law is this? Why stop from meeting the bereaved family of a deceased Rupesh Pandey?
In the second tweet, he has written that I am in custody for four hours. The Jharkhand government has banned me from stepping out of the airport and meeting the media.
In another tweet, Kapil has written that Rupesh Pandey’s mother has been talked to on a video call. Rupesh’s mother says that nothing less than hanging is acceptable to the killers. Kapil said that he told Rupesh’s mother that the entire country is with her and his heart is very emotional.
It is said that Kapil Mishra is inside Birsa Munda airport. City SP Munda of Ranchi is present at the airport. After Kapil’s tweet, a large number of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers and people of Hindu organizations gathered outside the airport.
