Lucknow, February 17: Poll campaigning for the third phase in Uttar Pradesh will end on Friday evening. In this phase, 59 seats in 16 districts of the state will go to polls on February 20. In the third phase, 627 candidates including SP chief Akhilesh Yadav are in the fray. The total number of voters is 2.16 crore.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer Ajay Kumar Shukla said on Thursday that as per the guidelines of the Election Commission of India (ECI), instructions have been given for necessary preparations and arrangements to conduct the third phase of polling in a free, fair, transparent and safe manner.
In the third phase, the time for voting for 59 assembly seats in 16 districts of the state is fixed from 07 am to 06 pm.
Shukla said that the campaign being done by public representatives will be effectively stopped on Friday evening and this ban will remain in effect till the third phase of polling is over. Necessary instructions have been given to the administration to make proper arrangements so that voters do not face any kind of trouble at each polling booth.
Voting in these 16 districts
In the third phase, polling for 59 assembly seats in Hathras, Firozabad, Etah, Kasganj, Mainpuri, Farrukhabad, Kannauj, Etawah, Auraiya, Kanpur Dehat, Kanpur Nagar, Jalaun, Jhansi, Lalitpur, Hamirpur, and Mahoba will be held on February 20.

Hathras (SC), Sadabad, Sikandra Rau, Tundla (SC), Jasrana, Firozabad, Shikohabad, Sirsaganj, Kasganj, Amopur, Patiali, Aliganj, Etah, Marhara, Jalesar (SC), Mainpuri, Bhogaon, Kishni (SC), Karhal , Kayamganj (SC), Amritpur, Farrukhabad, Bhojpur, Chhibramau, Tirwa, Kannauj (SC), Jaswantnagar, Etawah, Bharthana (SC), Bidhuna, Dibiyapur, Auraiya (SC), Rasulabad (SC), Akbarpur-Rania, Sikandra, Bhognipur, Bilhaur (SC), Bithoor, Kalyanpur, Govindnagar, Sisamau, Aryanagar, Kidwai Nagar, Kanpur Cantonment, Maharajpur, Ghatampur (SC), Madhaugarh, Kalpi, Orai (SC), Babina, Jhansi Nagar, Mauranipur (SC), Garautha , Lalitpur, Mehrauni (SC), Hamirpur, Rath (SC), Mahoba and Charkhari assembly seats are included in the third phase.
