New Delhi, 23 February: The multinational ‘Cobra Yoddha exercise’ will be held in Waddington, London from March 06 to 27 in which the Indian Air Force (IAF) will participate along with Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas and other fighter aircraft.

This will be the first time that India’s LCA Tejas will take part in an international exercise. Fighter LCA Tejas Mark-One enthralled the audience by participating in a low-level aerobatics display at the Singapore Air Show earlier this month.

According to an IAF spokesperson, the objective of the exercise is to impart operational experience and share best practices among the participating Air Forces, thereby enhancing combat capability and strengthening bonds of friendship. It will be a platform for LCA Tejas to showcase its maneuverability and operational capability.

โ€œFive Tejas aircraft of the Indian Air Force will fly to the United Kingdom. The transport aircraft will provide necessary transport support to the IAF for C-17 induction and de-induction. The Royal Air Force’s ‘Cobra Warrior Exercise’ is going to be held in Waddington, London from 7 March to 25 March this time. It will be attended by 05 Tejas Mark-I and 04 other aircraft, most likely IL-78MKI and C-17,โ€ said IAF spokesperson.

He further said that this will be the first time that Tejas of the Indian Air Force will participate in the exercise with a foreign air force. Tejas has been participating in IAF’s internal exercises and several air shows for the past few years.

As per spokesperson, three Tejas Mark-Ones participated in the Singapore Air Show held on 15-18 this month. Tejas covered 3000 kms non-stop from India to Changi Airbase in Singapore. had taken flight. Due to this, now the faith of the Indian Air Force has started instilling in this light combat aircraft. This air force of the Air Force will operate from the Royal Air Force, Washington. The UK RAF’s F35B and Eurofighter Typhoon will take place during the exercise.

The US Air Force will have F15E and F35A fighter jets. Saudia will have its typhoons and tornadoes. The Swedish Air Force will also participate in this multinational air exercise along with the Gripen along with Belgian F16 fighters. Top Aces A4 fighter jets could also join in. The exercise will allow Indian Tejas to fly alongside F-16, F-15, F-35, Typhoon, Tornado and Gripen fighter jets. Usually, the Indian Air Force sends its Russian fighter aircraft Sukhoi-30MKI for foreign exercises, but the deployment of Tejas in such a multinational air exercise for the first time will set many precedents.
