UP Govt to ferry students arriving from Ukraine to their homes

Lucknow, February 26: For the convenience of the people of Uttar Pradesh stranded in Ukraine, after issuing the helpline number, the state government has now taken up the responsibility of ferrying them to their homes. A counter of the state government will be set up in Delhi. Along with this, the state government has also appointed a nodal officer for this.

Hence, coordinating with the Central Government, the Nodal Officer will make arrangements to transport the people of Uttar Pradesh coming from Ukraine to their homes. They will not have to pay any fee for this.

Additional Chief Secretary of Home Department Awanish Awasthi told that the local commissioner of the state has been directed to set up a counter at the airport for the convenience of the people of the state coming back from Ukraine. He will ensure necessary arrangements while coordinating with the Central Government and all other concerned. The state government will transport those coming from Ukraine to their homes.

โ€œThe Uttar Pradesh government has also deputed a nodal officer to coordinate with the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India and the Indian Embassy in Kiev, the capital of Ukraine, to provide assistance to the students and other people of the state trapped in Ukraine. Ranvir Prasad, Relief Commissioner and Secretary, Revenue Department, has been named as the nodal officer. State Control Room (24×7) has been established in the state.
