Kolkata, March 25: Trinamool leader Anarul Hussain, who spearheaded the barbaric massacre that burnt alive at least eight people in the village after the killing of Trinamool leader Bhadu Sheikh in Birbhum on Monday night, has claimed that he is innocent.
Looking at the media cameras during his court appearance on Friday, Hussain said that he has surrendered at the behest of Didi (Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee) while he is completely innocent.
On Thursday, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had reached Bagtui village in Birbhum district where people were burnt alive.
She was told by the people that Rampurhat Block Trinamool President Anarul Hussain had led the arson mob and had also stopped the police reaching the spot.
After this the Chief Minister had given instructions for his arrest. Two hours after Mamata Banerjee’s instructions, the police surrounded his house but he could not be found there and later he was detained and arrested near the world famous Tarapith temple.
Later, he was produced in Rampurhat court on Friday from where he has been sent to 14 days police custody.
Seeing the media in the court premises, Hussain shouted that I am innocent. Because didi said that’s why I have surrendered. I have full faith in law and order.
