UP: 3 arrested for forcibly converting Dalit Hindus into Christianity

Etawah, 28 March: Three people have been arrested for allegedly forcing people to convert to Christianity on the pretext of monetary help through Christian missionary in Nagla Ramsundar village under Balrai police station area.

Meanwhile, two people managed to escape from the spot. The police registered a case against all of them and started further action.

Complainant villager Anupam Kumar told that two people of Firozabad district had come to a Balmiki family in village Nagla Ramsundar. The Dalits present here were motivating the people of the society to adopt Christianity by offering money to them. For this, these people have kept Christian missionaries running.

However, the police reached soon after receiving the information from the villagers and arrested three people from the spot. These include a woman and two men; the remaining two youths who came from Firozabad have escaped from the spot, which the police are looking for.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jai Prakash Singh said that on Sunday, the police got input about the arrival of some people at the house of Dalit Hindus in Nagla Ramsundar village in Thana Balrai area. It was found that these people are motivating people to convert to Christianity by giving them the temptation of Christianity. On the complaint of a villager, the police have registered a case and arrested three people, including a woman, from the spot, while the team has been deployed in search of the remaining two absconding people.
