Petrol price hike in India is very low as compared to other countries: Hardeep Singh Puri

New Delhi, 05th April: Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri told the Lok Sabha on Tuesday that the rise in petrol prices in India is one tenth of the increase in other countries.

The Union Minister said that the hike in the prices of petroleum products in India is one tenth of that of the largest countries of the world.

He said that between April 2021 and March 2022, the price of petrol (petrol) has increased by only five percent. Wherein there has been an increase of 51 percent in the US, 52 percent in Canada, 55 percent in Germany, 55 percent in the UK, 50 percent in France and 58 percent in Spain.

It is noteworthy that the prices of petrol and diesel are continuously increasing by a few paise across the country. Adding this shows that till now the price of petrol and diesel has increased by Rs 9.20 per liter.
