Gorakhnath temple incident part of a bigger conspiracy: ADG L&O

LUCKNOW, 07 APRIL: Ahmad Murtaza Abbasi, prime accused of attacking the PAC jawans deployed in the security of the Gorakhnath temple, is being interrogated continuously at the ATS headquarters.

A thorough investigation is also being done regarding the evidence recovered from him. The Gorakhnath temple incident is part of a larger conspiracy, this is to say of Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Prashant Kumar.

On Thursday, Prashant Kumar said in the press conference on the question related to Ahmed Murtaza that the video which was found today during the investigation is being checked thoroughly. We will first fully verify the things that are being told by that person, after that advance action will be taken on it. At present, the ATS team is grilling the accused.

On the question related to the video of ISIS that went viral on March 25, the ADG said that we had also seen this video, which is an old video. Laptop and mobile found from the accused are being investigated.

On the question of the family telling the son to be a mental patient, the ADG said that whatever is being told by the accused, we are getting the probe done by the experts and the same will be valid in the court as well.

Regarding the foreign travel of the accused, he said that whatever has come out during the interrogation is being officially confirmed on the basis of facts. Between 2012 and 2015, the accused Ahmad Murtaza used to fund in Syria through Nepalese banks, Prashant Kumar said that this has not been confirmed yet. Whatever facts are coming out during the interrogation, we will collect the evidence and take action on the basis of that.
