Jhansi, Banda of UP are among the 10 hottest cities in country

Kanpur, April 13: Due to the scorching heat of the sun in the month of March, the weather pattern is changing this year and in the month of April it is getting hot like May. Due to this, two cities of Uttar Pradesh, Jhansi and Banda were included in the 10 hottest cities of the country on Wednesday.

However, there was some change in the weather today as compared to the last two days and the sky remained cloudy.

Dr SN Sunil Pandey, Meteorologist of Chandrashekhar Azad Agricultural Technological University said that today Daltonganj in Jharkhand was the hottest with 44.8 degree Celsius. At the same time, two cities of Uttar Pradesh were Jhansi (43.6) and Banda (43) respectively among the 10 hottest cities of the country. Both these cities come under Bundekhand region. Kanpur city in the plains of central Uttar Pradesh recorded a maximum temperature of 40 degrees Celsius, which was 3.4 degrees Celsius above normal.

โ€œSimilarly, the minimum temperature was 25.8 degrees Celsius, which was 5.2 degrees Celsius above normal. The relative humidity was maximum 79 percent and the relative humidity was minimum 35 percent. The wind direction was southwest with an average speed of 4.8 kmph,โ€ he said.  

He told that according to the weather forecast received from the Indian Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of light to moderate clouds in the sky but there is no possibility of rain. Therefore, farmers are advised not to do any work on the fields between 11 am to 04 pm to avoid heat wave and light irrigation in the crops at an interval of 10 -12 days in the evening time.

He cautioned farmers that do not leave the animals outside to graze from 11 am to 4 pm. Bathe the animals in the morning and evening. The weather is favourable for harvesting and threshing of mature Rabi crops.

Western Disturbance formed in Pakistan

The meteorologist said that behind the change in the weather, there is a western disturbance over North Pakistan and surrounding areas. The Induced Cyclonic Circulation lies over Central Pakistan and adjoining Punjab. A Cyclonic Circulation is persisting over East Uttar Pradesh and adjoining areas. The trough is extending from Vidarbha to Southeast Arabian Sea across Marathwada, Interior Karnataka and North Kerala.
