Varanasi, April 22: Mauritius Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth held separate meetings with Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at a hotel in Nadesar on Friday, the last day of his three-day visit to Varanasi.
First of all, the Governor Patel reached the hotel and had a courtesy meeting with the Prime Minister of Mauritius. During this, representative officers of India and Mauritius were also present. The Governor and Prime Minister Jagannath held talks on various topics for about an hour.
After the governor, Chief Minister Adityanath met Jagannath. In the bilateral meeting, the Chief Minister highly appreciated the contribution of former Mauritius Prime Minister Sir Anirudh Jugnauth (father of Pravind Jugnauth) in maintaining the friendly relations between India and Mauritius.
The Chief Minister said that he had visited Mauritius in the year 2017 on the occasion of Pravasi Divas and had received the best wishes of former Prime Minister Anirudh Jugnauth during the UP Ambedkar Sammelan held in February 2018. The people of Mauritius consider India to be the land of their ancestors.
The Chief Minister said that India and Mauritius can progress a lot in the field of development under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Mauritius and India have similar culture. It has huge potential for investment in various sectors along with tourism. Most of the people of India go to Mauritius for tourism. People from Mauritius also visit Kashi, Ayodhya, Mathura, Prayagraj and Kushinagar in large numbers for tourism.
Yogi added, under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, India is touching new heights in the field of development and according to his vision, Uttar Pradesh is moving ahead in the field of development. Residents and businessmen of Mauritius are especially welcome in Uttar Pradesh.
Expressed willingness to work together on the technology of sugarcane production
In the meeting, the Chief Minister laid special emphasis on sugarcane development and said that 119 sugarcane crushing mills are operating in the state. People from the state went to Mauritius only for the cultivation of sugarcane. Uttar Pradesh and Mauritius can work together in the field of sugarcane research and technology. There is ample potential for development in the field of sugarcane and AYUSH.
“Ethanol can be made from sugar cane and mixed with diesel and petrol. With this, its imports can be reduced along with meeting the demand of diesel and petrol. Plants have been set up in Uttar Pradesh to make ethanol from sugar cane, which is fully functional. Yogi said that a total of 119 sugar mills are functional in Uttar Pradesh, which was not closed even during the Covid period,”said Yogi.
The Chief Minister emphasized on sharing of technical and necessary information between the two countries in the field of agriculture and sugarcane development through delegation. Along with government to government, there should be interaction and dialogue between governments to businessmen.
He said that the industries were not disrupted even during the Covid period under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi.
Source of Sugar Economy in Mauritius
In the meeting, Prime Minister Pravind said that Mauritius has an emotional attachment to India. Both the countries can expand the prospects of development to a great extent. Sugar is the main source of economy in Mauritius.
He laid special emphasis on the possibilities of joint development in the sugar sector. The Prime Minister of Mauritius also invited Indians to invest in his country.
Corridor construction done in record time
When the Prime Minister of Mauritius freely appreciated the development work done in Kashi Vishwanath Dham, then Chief Minister Adityanath also looked stunned.
The Chief Minister said that the construction work of Kashi Vishwanath Corridor has been done according to the vision and desire of Prime Minister Modi. The construction work of the corridor has been done in record time. After bathing in the Ganges, now arrangements have been made to reach the temple directly for the Abhishek of Baba Vishwanath.
On January 01, 7 lakh devotees worshiped Baba Vishwanath on New Year and 5 lakh devotees worshiped Baba Vishwanath on Shivratri, which is a record.
Expressing his desire, the Chief Minister said that the Indian people of Mauritius should come to Kashi and have darshan of Baba Vishwanath and Mata Ganga. Before this, Chief Minister Yogi welcomed Pravind by wearing an angavastra and presented a memento of Kashi Vishwanath.
