3 Jaish, Lashkar terrorists killed in Jammu ahead of PM Modi’s visit

Jammu, 22 April: Three militants of Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist outfits have been killed by security forces in encounters that followed three terrorist attacks in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday.

During this, the security forces recovered the bodies of the terrorists and also recovered a large quantity of arms and ammunition from them. One soldier has been martyred in these terrorist attacks while eight jawans have also been injured.

In an encounter between security forces and terrorists in Sunjwan area of โ€‹โ€‹Jammu, security forces killed two terrorists of terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed while six other jawans were injured. Three assault rifles, two pouches, two jackets used by suicide terrorists, two IEDs, five UBGL grenades, one satellite phone, medicines and food items were found from both the slain terrorists.

On Friday morning, there was information about the hiding of terrorists in the Jalalabad area of โ€‹โ€‹Sunjwan. After getting the information, the security forces launched a search operation.

During the search operation, the terrorists hiding at one place started firing on the security forces. Before retaliation, the security forces warned the terrorists to surrender but they ignored it and continued firing.

On this, the security forces opened fire and killed two terrorists. Six jawans have also been injured in this encounter. The injured soldiers have been admitted to the hospital. They have been identified as Head Constable Balraj Singh resident of Balot Kathua, SPO Sahil Sharma resident of Jyodian Akhnoor, Head Constable Pramod Patra resident of Odisha, CISF constable Amir Soorna resident of Assam, CISF Constable Bittal and Head Constable CISF R Nitin resident of Maharashtra.

Due to this, security arrangements have been tightened around Jammu city. Intensive search is being done for every passing vehicles through the nakas located in the inner and outer areas of the city. Mobile and internet services have also been suspended in Sunjwan area due to security reasons.

Meanwhile, the Chief Education Officer of Jammu has issued an order to keep 10 private and government schools closed as a precaution. These include Higher Secondary School Sunjwan, High School Bathindi, IDPS Sunjwan, RM Public School Chowadi, High School Chowadi, Doon School, DS Heritage, Birla Open Mind School, British International School, Jodhamal School and GPS Chowadi.

The second terror attack took place on Friday morning on a bus loaded with Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) near Chatha camp in Jammu. One ASI was martyred and two jawans were seriously injured in this attack.

A senior CISF official said that on Friday morning, 15 CISF personnel were going to do duty in the morning shift in a bus. Meanwhile, the terrorists sitting in an ambush in the area attacked the bus.

Meanwhile, the CISF jawans also fought with the terrorists. One ASI was martyred and two other jawans were injured in the encounter. The treatment of the injured soldiers is going on in the hospital. The terrorists fled after the attack. Security forces cordoned off the entire area and continued the search operation to nab the terrorists.

Apart from this, in the ongoing encounter in Baramulla district, one more terrorist was killed by the security forces on Friday morning. The encounter was going on in Baramulla district since Thursday.

In this encounter that has been going on for the last 24 hours, the security forces have killed four terrorists, including Yusuf Kantru, who is in the top ten of the valley. Four jawans and a civilian, including an army officer, were also injured in the encounter on Thursday.

The security forces recovered the bodies of the terrorists and also recovered a large quantity of arms and ammunition from them.

It is noteworthy that on April 24, there is also a visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Jammu. The terrorists had prepared a suicide attack to disturb the Prime Minister’s visit. It was thwarted by the security forces in time.

Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh said that we had already received inputs from our sources that the terrorists had planned a suicide attack. They wanted to disturb the rally of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

On the basis of this information, investigation was being done by marking some special places and last evening it was found that terrorists can carry out any incident in Sunjwa and its adjoining areas. To nab these terrorists, the police along with CRPF, CISF and other security agencies had conducted a search operation.
