CM Yogi instructs to make dedicated covid wards of 30 beds amid rise in cases

Lucknow, April 22: In view of the spike in coronavirus cases in Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed the officials to keep all government and medical colleges fully prepared. Under this, instructions have been given to make a dedicated Covid ward of 30 beds in each medical college.

Along with this, the Chief Minister has given instructions to reserve 10 percent beds in government hospitals if the cases increase.

On Friday, 188 new corona patients reported in the state. The total number of active cases in the state is 1044. In the last 24 hours, 123 patients beat the corona infection. 108 new positive patients were confirmed in Gautam Budh Nagar, 38 in Ghaziabad and 10 in Lucknow.

In these districts, the Chief Minister has given instructions to take extra vigilance. These three districts are such where cases of infection have been confirmed in double digits. The Health Department and Medical Education Department are continuously monitoring the state.

According to the mandate, a dedicated Covid-19 ward of 30 beds should be prepared in every medical college of the state. If patients increase, 10% beds should be reserved in all government hospitals.

Director of Sanjay Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences Dr RK Dhiman said that there is no need to close the schools in the state. It will be ensured that all children above 12 years get the vaccine shield. It is noteworthy that so far more than 31 crore vaccine doses have been given.
