UP: Energy Minister reprimands MD UPPCL, instructs to suspend JEs of Mau, Azamgarh

Lucknow, April 25: State’s Energy and Additional Energy Resources Minister AK Sharma conducted a virtual review on Monday to improve the power system of the state.

During this, he looked tough on the careless officers. Before this, he has reviewed many times and given many orders, but till now there is no significant change in the power system, AK Sharma said that the lax working style and negligence of the officials will not be tolerated. During the review, he directed to suspend the JEs of Azamgarh and Mau if negligence was found.

Energy Minister AK Sharma was doing a virtual review with the officials at Shakti Bhawan today to know the reality of the power system of Purvanchal Discoms and improve it.

During this, he also took information from the consumers and public representatives regarding the actual situation of electricity and also took their suggestions for improvement in it.

He strongly reprimanded Vidya Bhushan, Managing Director of Purvanchal Discom on the complaints of consumers and public representatives.

He directed to ensure power supply as per the schedule of the Chief Minister and to redress the grievances of the consumers at the earliest.

He also directed for suspension of JEs of Mau and Azamgarh on negligence and complaints, transfer of negligent officers and strict action against those who do not take effective action on complaints.

He reprimanded the Superintending Engineers of Mau and Azamgarh districts for not ensuring proper power supply and instructed them to visit the area to work at the ground level.

The Energy Minister also directed to form a mobile team of Superintending and Executive Engineer level officers to monitor the work of officers and employees and the power system and to monitor it through GPRS.

He said that planning should be done to plan the maintenance of damaged equipment at the sub-station level and problems should be resolved quickly, and at the sub-station level, make sure to bring changes in 24 hours by making a realistic plan of supply and load.

The Energy Minister also directed to check the load of substations, feeders and transformers and increase their load as per the requirement so that the supply should not be interrupted in the scorching heat.

He directed that there should be complete control on electricity theft, effective action on big defaulters and emphasis should be on recovery of revenue for 24 hours power supply.

Additional Chief Secretary Energy Alok Sinha, Chairman UPPCL M Devraj, ADG UPPCL SN Sambat, Managing Director UPPCL Pankaj Kumar, and other high officials including officers, consumers and public representatives of Purvanchal Discom were present in the meeting.
