Lucknow, 26 April: In view of the rising cases of Covid-19 across the state, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered to increase the test of Corona.
He has also directed the officials to make elaborate arrangements for the treatment of Covid patients.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said during the team-09 meeting on Tuesday that new cases of Covid are increasing in the National Capital Region (NCR). Within the last 24 hours, 126 and 30 new cases were found in Gautam Buddha Nagar and Ghaziabad respectively. In such a situation, it is necessary that testing should be increased further. Minimum 1.5 lakh tests should be done every day.
โAll the necessary arrangements should be made for their treatment by making continuous communication and contact with the people getting Covid positive. Most of the people are in need of home isolation. They should be given complete information about the Covid isolation protocol,โ CM Yogi added.
He said that the Uttar Pradesh has achieved another major success in eradicating communicable diseases after establishing effective control over Encephalitis with planned efforts. Recent results show that malaria and Kala-azar disease are on the way to end in the state. The problem of malaria was observed in less than one person per 1000 population, while Kala-azar disease was seen in less than one person per 10 thousand populations in 22 identified blocks. This is a great achievement. Congratulations to Team UP. Very soon our state will become black-azar free and malaria will also be effectively controlled.
At present, the total number of active cases of corona in the state is 1316. In the last 24 hours, 91 thousand 673 corona tests were done. In this, 203 new corona patients were confirmed. In the same period, 162 people were treated and became corona free.
In districts like NCR and Lucknow, where more cases are being found, the requirement of face masks should be made effective. People should be made aware to follow the covid protocol. Public address system should be used effectively.
Chief Minister’s emphasis on applying booster dose
The Chief Minister said that with more than 31 crore 17 lakh Covid vaccinations in the state, the entire population above the age of 18 years has received at least one dose of the vaccine. More than 87.67% of adults have received both doses. 94.74% of adolescents in the 15 to 17 age group have received their first dose. More than 64.33 percent of adolescents have had both the doses. There is a need to intensify the immunization of children.
After the first dose, children in the age group of 12 to 14 years should be given the second dose as per eligibility. There is an expectation of expediting the introduction of booster doses to people over the age of 18.
