Lucknow, 01 May: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reviewed the state’s Covid system in a meeting with high officials on Sunday and gave important guidelines to the officials concerned.
He also reviewed the growing power crisis in the state. He assured the people of uninterrupted power supply.
Adityanath said in the meeting of Team-9, a group of officers constituted for the management of Covid-19, that the effective control of the Covid pandemic in Uttar Pradesh has been maintained due to the successful implementation of the policy of track, test, treat and vaccination under the guidance of the Prime Minister. At present, there are total 1587 active cases in the state. 99% people are getting health benefits at home. Their health is being continuously monitored.
He said that effective control of Covid remains in Uttar Pradesh. However, for the last two weeks, cases are increasing in NCR districts of Gautam Buddha Nagar and Ghaziabad. In the last 24 hours, 269 new cases were confirmed in the entire state, including 117 in Gautam Budh Nagar, 55 in Ghaziabad, 26 in Lucknow and 15 in Agra. Where more cases are being found, it has been made mandatory to wear face masks in public places. At least 1.5 lakh Covid tests should be done every day. Continue the work of genome sequencing by taking samples of people found positive.
So far, over 11 crore 14 lakh Covid tests have been done in Uttar Pradesh, while 31 crore 48 lakh doses of Covid vaccine have been administered. The entire population over the age of 18 has received at least one dose of the vaccine. More than 88% of adults have received both doses.
Also, over 95.33 percent of adolescents in the 15 to 17 age group have received their first dose. More than 66.84 percent of adolescents have had both the doses. Immunization of children in the age group of 12 to 14 years needs to be intensified.
The Chief Minister said that on the occasion of Akshaya Tritiya, Parshuram Jayanti and Eid, power supply should be maintained smoothly. Don’t cut unnecessary. Arrangements should be made for cleanliness, drinking water etc. around religious places. Take care of the convenience of the people.
On the increasing power crisis across the state, the Chief Minister said that during my visit to Delhi last day, I had a positive conversation with the Union Home Minister, Energy Minister and Railway Minister regarding power supply. The three ministers have assured full cooperation. The Indian Railways is going to give us additional rakes to transport coal. Additional power will also be received from the central government. Appropriate arrangements should be made for uninterrupted power supply as per the roster. At present the situation is normal and ensures the power supply as per the roster.
He said that in every case it should be ensured that not a single consumer gets the wrong electricity bill and everyone gets the bill on time. Overbilling or late billing not only bothers the consumer, but also makes them disappointed with the system and they do not enthusiastic about paying the bill. In such a situation, ensure that the bill is given on time and the correct bill is given. For this a concrete action plan is needed.
The Chief Minister said that it is necessary to pay the bill for the power supply to continue. It is the responsibility of every consumer who consumes electricity to pay the electricity bill on time. Energy Department, Electricity Corporations will have to make concerted efforts for time bound collection of bills. Constantly contact, communicate with defaulters. Send bills on time, bill right. The collection system needs improvement.
He said that the state government is providing free ration for the smooth maintenance of 15 crore poor people. Free ration is also being given by the Central Government. Apart from ration, pulses, salt and edible oil are also being given. Sugar is also being given free of cost to Antyodaya card holders. For this scheme of wider public interest to continue in a systematic way, the availability of distribution material, distribution system, etc., were reviewed at regular intervals.
Yogi further said that a plan should be made to establish cow shelters at the block level with a capacity of 2000-2500 cows. The system should be maintained smoothly in all the cow shelters in the state. Arrangements should be made to keep the cows safe from heat or sun. There should be proper arrangements for green fodder, straw etc. Wheat harvesting is going on these days. In such a situation, it would be appropriate to buy animal feed now. It is expected to speed up the process of formation of milk committees.
