UP: Unemployment rate falls in Uttar Pradesh, claims Yogi govt

Lucknow, 02 May: The Yogi government of the state claimed that according to the monthly data of the Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE), an organization monitoring unemployment and business activities in the country, the unemployment rate in Uttar Pradesh as a whole in the country has come down to 2.9 percent in April 2022 which was at 4.4 per cent in March.

A spokesperson of the state government said on Monday that with the control of Corona, the Yogi government has made a record of overcoming unemployment. The latest survey data by the Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE) confirms that the unemployment rate in Uttar Pradesh has been recorded at 2.9 per cent, which is much lower than in March.

The spokesperson said that as per the CMIE report, UP is far ahead in terms of providing employment as compared to states like Delhi, Punjab, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Kerala and Tamil Nadu. The Yogi government has made a record of giving more than five lakh government jobs to the youth in the last five years.

Delhi’s unemployment rate 11.2% in CMIE report

He told that according to the report of CMIE for the month of April, the unemployment rate in Rajasthan is 28.8 percent, while the situation in the country’s capital Delhi is very poor in terms of employment. Delhi’s unemployment rate has been recorded at 11.2 per cent. The unemployment rate is 6.2 in West Bengal, 3.2 in Tamil Nadu, 7.2 in Punjab, 14.2 in Jharkhand, 5.8 in Kerala and 5.8 percent in Andhra Pradesh. The unemployment rate in the country’s most populous UP is just 2.9 percent.

According to the official spokesperson, the visionary policy and employment-oriented schemes of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath have a big role. Due to the ever-increasing industry and business in Uttar Pradesh, today the state has reached the lowest level in terms of unemployment. Even after Corona, the state government has left no stone unturned in providing employment to the youth. Under Mission Rozgar, employment opportunities are being provided to the people of the state through various departments, institutions and corporations. In the last five years, under various schemes of self-employment of the Yogi government, work has been done to connect about three crore people with employment.
