Moradabad, 09 May: In the coming days, the Railway Department has started preparing to give two baby berths to the women travelling with infants in Lucknow Mail passing through Moradabad.
However, the Railways will not charge any extra fare from women passengers for this. After this facility, women travelling with an infant child will get a lot of relief. Under the pilot project, first of all, baby berth has been installed at berth number 12 and berth number 60 in coach number B4 of AC III of Lucknow Mail running between Lucknow-Moradabad-New Delhi. The information has been given by the Railways through a tweet.
The Indian Railways is constantly paying attention to the convenience of women passengers. The railway administration is going to give baby births to the women travelling with small children.
It also endeavours to provide down berths to pregnant and moving women with children below the age of five years.
Apart from this, arrangements have been made to give women coach and seat in reserved category to the woman walking alone. The width of the reserved berths of the train is less, due to which it becomes difficult for the woman to sleep with small children. In such a situation, women travellers are not
able to sleep at night. When the woman tries to sleep, the small child is woken up.
The Indian Railways has taken note of this problem faced by women. For this, along with the woman’s seat, a baby berth has been made. The child’s berth has been arranged with the lower berth reserved for the female. Also, care has been taken that the child does not fall from the berth.
The special thing is that the Railways will not charge any extra fare for the child’s berth. For this, at the time of taking reservation ticket, the name of children below five years of age will have to be filled and baby berth will be available.
