New DGP UP? : These names are in the race of DGP

Lucknow, May 12: Due to lack of interest in departmental work and neglecting duties, chief minister Yogi Adityanath has removed the Director General of Police (DGP) Mukul Goel and sent him to the post of DG Civil Defense.

After the removal of the DGP, now as the new chief of police, the market of discussions in the department has heated up regarding many senior IPS.

The government has shaunted Mukul Goel, who was on the post of DGP, late in the evening. Now till the new DGP is appointed, Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Prashant Kumar will take over as the acting DGP. After the removal of Mukul Goel, the market of discussions in the police headquarters has started heating up regarding the name of the new DGP.

If the DGP is chosen as the senior most, then the names of DG Intelligence DS Chauhan, RK Vishwakarma, GL Meena, Vishwajit Mohapatra, Anand Kumar and RP Singh are coming up.

If departmental sources are to be believed, the IPS posted on central deputation can also be made the new Director General of Police of Uttar Pradesh.

However, considering the current law and order situation in the state, the government can take a very thoughtful decision.
